"ecocosmology" is about seeing the universe in a way that relates to holistic, organic, and natural principles such that something
comes from something else, etc., as opposed to filling in the blanks with magic seeds, mystery matter, and expanding space,
etc., and just fudging in the math to make it work. ________________________________________ in general terms for discussion.... What is "Cosmology"?... “Cosmology
is a global endeavor including a multidisciplinary dialog of mutual cooperation in which scientists grappling with complex
concepts or collections of astronomical data can turn to artists for visual illustrations and physical models in the process
of exploration of the universe toward an ever more creative flow of ideas. It is not a battle of mythologies or
a war about which deity can beat up which other deity, or which universe story should be considered the one holy truth, and
it is not part of any religion or particular concrete single theory answer or model to date. Cosmology embodies the
open question of what the universe is all about and everyone everywhere in every language on Earth can share this open question.”
"What is "The Universe"?... ....And where did it come from,
and how does it work? These questions have by and large been reduced to "How do we prove The Big Bang Theory?".
Efforts to prove this ever changing theory have all but taken over science budgets, observatory time, and the creative power
of thousands of individuals working in the field leaving other avenues and directions of exploration and imagination virtually
shut out or ignored. The fact that it really does not relate to the actual universe is being seen by more and more individuals
every day." (see
Big Bang Business page) _________________________________
"The big question now is; how do we escape the limitations of modern scientific dogma to create
a bold new creative era of cosmology?"

"Pardigm Shift" began
as a term for revolutionary change in science, but it has also become a term used in reference to a supposed big change in
thinking. In one meaning of the term, all the old popular ways of thinking are packed up and moved into a "new"
way of thinking. Much like a "new and improved" product, it is really just the same thing repackaged with
some small changes. This phenomemon is one of the reasons things are getting worse and environmental damage is increasing
rather than improving even though there is a "green movement" and "global warming awareness", etc..
There is this illusion of action while things actually become more of the same, or worse. The same philosophy and
religion and lifestyle do not add up to a "Paradigm Shift" at all. Included within this system is of
course popular cosmology with it's attempt to drag the tired old big bang idea into yet another generation of futile effort. In a true shift of thinking and revolution of consciousness, there will be no big bang or genesis idea.
Something new will come. _________________________________________________________________
Water People Some things just cannot be undone once done. It is vital and critical therefore to see
what is coming well in advance as to prevent that which cannot be repaired or replaced. In the case of the most valuable
and necessary comodity on Earth, drinking water, it is just about too late to make the changes needed to protect this stuff
of life. A view that water is water and it's no big deal, we'll just filter and clean it up, ignors the
great complexity of natural water with the miriad ingredients and what it does for and in the body that is required for optimal
functioning of the body and brain, not to mention that our bodies do a great deal of hard work to deal with the chemicals,
toxins, and bacteria in bad water and our organs age and wear out faster from all that work. People can survive on bad
water, but to thrive good water is required whether in crops and fruits or in a glass.
If there were such a thing as "The Fountain of Youth", it would probably just be related to someone finding the
perfect water for themselves, most likely in the region their ancestors came from, and becoming more healthy and
revitalized. It's like an engine that had been running on crude home distilled fuel suddenly getting a
tank full of regular gas from a gas station for the first time...it would not be a miracle, it would just run the
way it was built to run. The shame of this is though that worldwide water is being polluted, changed, altered with additives,
and the water of our ancestors no longer exists. Something I repeat again and again in these pages
is that this is related to philosophy and cosmology that we are not of this Earth and above things like water and air and
soil, when in fact it is the very stuff we are made of and evolved in, etc. If there is to be a "higher power"
one looks up to, let it be also a looking inward to what is alive within us and what actually makes us up. We
are beings of the water. _________________________________________________________________

Sleeping, waking, thinking, dreaming... "The mind is always on duty working, thinking, dreaming, even when we are asleep.
It's funny though that there is this illusion that we are separate from this goings on, like we are in control of it or
can turn it on and off. We think things like, "Oh, I think I'll think some thoughts now" or "I
have an idea", as though this process is totally separate from who and what we are. The cognitive process of thinking,
dreaming, evaluation, etc., is not a thing separate from the body like a separate spirit or soul. Our bodies, in
part anyway, use thoughts to regulate the overall system and manage stress and maintain a steady pulse, etc., and to
avoid confusion or overworking the system, etc. For example, repeating thought patterns, such as ones about safety
and security related to imagining the presence of ones chosen deity, serves to maintain a peaceful calm in an otherwise confusing
and mysterious environment. In this view, threatening a belief system can be almost literally threatening the actual
physical system and well being of the believer. They are not entirely separate things beliefs and the body.
The flow of the mind is constant and integral to our nature. The natural and instinctive nature of thoughts and
the instinctive nature of our physical system should be a clue that there may be elements here that are out of our
control. The mind may be thinking us rather than us thinking thoughts, or something like that. It
is quite a strange thing to think about thinking thoughts and having a thought about what is doing the thinking
is, etc.. The point I started out to make is that there may be less difference in waking and sleeping than we know,
and the part of life we consider to be wide awake, aware, or enlightened, may not be the high state of consciousness
we think it is. What we believe in and the repeating patterns of our mental systems may be very much a part of
our physical existance, and we can have a greater awareness of this overall. There may be other levels of awareness
available is all I'm saying, and that this is exciting." _______________________________________________
“Having doubts, being skeptical,
or actually not believing things does not mean an absence of knowledge or lack of truth, and in fact disbelief and not knowing
can open the doors of the entire universe while specific myths focus in on a specific point, sometimes literally as with the
big bang theory, leaving everything else out. It’s a strangely ironic paradox of terms, but not having a particular
belief system may be more of an opening for a “belief in everything” as opposed to believing in nothing
as some philosophies are at their heart, in terms of incorporeal spirit realms or cosmic big bang seeds seated in nothing
and nowhere, etc. So, when I am asked the question “Don’t you believe in anything?”, I am often quite
perplexed as to what answer to give. Maybe I should say No, I believe in everything. That's not a very satisfactory
answer though, so what I tend to do most often when asked about "higher powers" and such is to pinch some skin on
my hand and explain that I believe in these things (blood cells, etc.) that are what make up who and what I am, etc., and
I live in wonder of all things great and small and how we can be alive at all.” ____________________________________________

"If it is easy to understand, then it is probably not revolutionary". _________________________________________
From a very young age I began to see that
there were things people thought and believed that did not make sense even though they seemed sure these things were indisputable
truths and facts. More importantly, people acted and lived based upon these thoughts and ideas and built their worlds
in relation to them without question as though there could be no consequences. So many of our modern conveniences,
some that we take for granted and some that we marvel at, have effects upon us and upon the environment that we have to live
with whether we are aware they are happening or not. All of the various types of radiation, waves, gases, chemicals,
and toxic waste, etc., add up to one giant change in the environment. While we enjoy modern technology and popular products
that supposedly make our lives easier, other species, such as frogs for example, are being erased from existence. What
difference does this make? While that may seem like a crazy question one way or another, the main thing is that mass
extinctions and global changes are happening on a day to day basis largely produced by small things done by individuals largely
unaware that their actions are having such a devastating effect. It's a very complex puzzle and it is one of the
central goals of this website to work this puzzle and attempt to weave together some of the pieces and make some sense of
it all. _____________________________________________________
"Are the solutions to the biggest problems facing humanity today a matter of changing our minds? What
ideas lie behind the escalating devastation of the natural ecosystems around the world? Does the way we view ourselves
and the nature of our cosmology directly translate to our relationship, or lack thereof, with nature? Are our ideas
are killing us? Have we been blind to let this happen, or just asleep?"
________________________ Tidal wave of awakening creativity?... (2005) As humanity dives ever more quickly into irreversible global devastation of Earth’s
natural environment and an end to our ability to continue to exist as a viable species, there seems to be another phenomenon
coexisting as an emerging and awakening force all over the world. It remains to be seen whether this is the birth of
a new global consciousness, a paradigm shift perhaps blending Western ideas with ancient Mayan and other cultural principles,
or a movement unlike anything that has ever happened before. Given the dissatisfactory and monotonous results
and solutions offered by popular science, religion, and major philosophies, people are designing their own cosmologies and
articulating visions and dreams that offer new perspective and diverse possibilities for humanity to revolutionize the way
we live and think. While there are presently millions of separate individuals writing, making art, and
expressing new ideas unseen by many others, this is changing as we surf the Internet and discover each other.
As this unfolds, we will no doubt uncover more differences than similarities, but I feel that over time just the fact
that we are all searching, dreaming, and envisioning new things may be enough for us to begin to connect and relate to one
another without fighting over who’s idea should be accepted and believed by everyone else, but rather joining in a celebration
of our rights and joys in being different. The “one global philosphy” idea does not seem to
be natural, or possible or desirable at all, but the notion of having a global interconnected appreciation of individuality
as essential to life on Earth, well now, that seems more like it.

IS THE FUTURE OF COSMOLOGY HERE TODAY?...
(2006)
This is not an advertising
headline or marketing slogan. Rather it is a reference to the way in which new ideas flow through history.
The origins of future popular ideas begin as initially unpopular thought, or even as violently rejected ideas, which
slowly flow through social systems becoming more and more accepted until they replace the former ideas. In the mean
time (sometimes literally the very "mean" times) the new idea is treated as dangerous or rejected as ridiculous,
or worse. The voices articulating the new cosmology become greater in number, and eventually the new can be presented
as common sense ideas that seem natural and matter of fact. The new future popular cosmology is here today and all around us, yet it remains hidden behind the rigorous
promotion and defense of a tired old idea that was never a good theory in the first place, The Big Bang. The truth that
we do not know is being hidden as though it is shameful, disgraceful, and even unthinkable rather than being a real part of
higher knowledge and an accepted and productive part of seeking truth and doing good science. The fact that so many
potentially brilliant young minds have steered away from the fields of cosmology and astrophyics because they were taught
that these fields are all but buttoned up and a done deal is so sad to me that it is heartbreaking. All that is
changing. More and more individuals
involved in the field of cosmology and astrophysics are turning the popular views upsidedown and speaking the underlying truth
of the matter, which is that we really do not know, and making room for entirely new lines of speculation. There
is not only room for new people to join in the quest and exploration in the field of cosmology, it is in fact a
wide open field as much as it was in pre-Einstein times. The coming of a "major Paradigm shift" does not include
packing up all ones cherished religious and philosophical beliefs to take along and keeping them exactly the same, and it
does not mean a continuation of viewing the visible (so far) cosmos as "all that there is having once danced on the head
of a pin to explode forth creating the cosmos, etc. A major shift calls for something of a very big change all around.
If all that is coming next is more of the same and fine tuning one idea and looking for the beginning and end (and middle?)
of The Big Bang (genesis), what hope is there of new discovery and creative thinking? It's just possible that
is left to those of us working outside that system, the artists, to work beyond those bounds. People all around the world are, and have, envisioning
new ways of seeing life and the universe. Dreams and visions leading to art, poetry, dance, and sculpture, as well
as writing are streaming onto the Internet. Now, it may just be a matter of our discovering each other and finding
some kind of common ground. People of great difference and diversity cannot gather in groups the same way as like
minded people, but it seems that something is transcending this limitation. What is the common ground? Is it that
we all wish the freedom to think and dream for ourselves, or is it that we are all envisioning some common thing is different
and creative individual ways. The future
of cosmology is happening and taking shape right now and it is not about a primordial cosmic seed or an antropomorphic deity
or a big bang. It is something else all together. Take
a look around. See the future now. The cosmic equation is not a closed one.

Also included in this site: a young man's dreams played out sketch pads and on canvas with
oil paints and brushes, and a wild model of the universe with different realms interrelated...it's something like a science
fiction story told in art, but it is also a story of a passionate period in my life in which anything I could dream, visualize,
or imagine could come to life on my canvas. It is this kind of freedom that is lost in mainstream cosmology I think,
and it is my wish to help foster further creative imagination in the field. But mostly this is just part of the story
of my life.
ART GALLERY ELEMENT: This site is in part a venue for ideas that have been a part of my life for decades and for symbols
and images inspired by dreams in 1971 related to ideas about the large scale structure of the universe and my personal
quest to understand myself and the cosmos.
In general, the pyramid below tells a story of the universe that includes different realms beyond what can be seen.
In a steady state solid cosmos, a black hole like event takes place and grows to incredible proportions. This forms
three different areas: the solid surroundings, the hole, and the core of the hole that formed it. The visible
universe we view and consider commonly as the entire cosmos takes place on, or just above the surface of the core of the giant
void. As dense black-hole-like matter flares up (something like a Solar flare) moving away from the dense core into
the void and expanding as it moves, it is followed by an interior flare of the dense core matter which explodes like a fireworks
display moving through the other matter spinning through it and collecting it as it goes forming bodies - planets and stars,
which also collect forming galaxies. It is a story of one thing related to another and related to yet another...like
life and birth and death all being interconnected and circular, so goes this dream of the cosmos.
